Rev. Gregory Rapp
Greg was born a flatlander in Pottstown, PA but had the good fortune of moving to the northern tier as a child. A graduate of Port Allegany High School, Greg studied Theater at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and worked in several professional theaters in Western and Central New York before hearing a call to ministry in 1996. He studied for ministry at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C. and was ordained an elder in the Central Pennsylvania Conference in 2005. He led congregations in Shippensburg, Hershey, and Hanover PA and served as the district superintendent of the former Wellsboro District. Greg currently serves as the pastor of Park United Methodist Church, Coudersport and Sweden Valley Faith United Methodist Church..
Greg is married to Robin and together they have two grown children. Their other children include J.D. a golden retriever who will do anything for a tennis ball and a snack and Rowdy, Winnie, and Binx, three cats they adopted from under the front porch of a farmhouse outside Hanover. Greg is passionately in love with God, Robin, and the Buffalo Bills. He enjoys camping, hiking, listening to jazz, and playing guitar. Greg loves to write, self publishing two books on the Christian life: “5×5 Discipleship: A Field Guide for Following Jesus” and “Coast to Coast: A Yearlong Trip Through the Bible.” (amazon.com). Greg firmly believes that the heart of Christian faith and discipleship is living life together as believers. It is vital that we gather together in small groups as a church family to teach the Bible, pray together and help each other grow through the ups and downs of everyday life. As God makes life better for us, we pass that on to others, caring for our neighbors as Jesus would.
